your broadcast needs to be 192.168.1.255 ... what's in /etc/resolv.conf ???
can you ping any of the ip's in it ???

I ran a emerge sync; emerge -Dup world yesterday, and got this output. The

and do the
cat /dev/hdc > /dev/null # check the full disk
so you read the fully disk if no errors it is the chipset but if you have
errors i think is in garanty for the disk replace it where you buy it.
