Hi all.
I've got a machine which seems to be working fine except I can't get it to get
an IP address via DHCP. I'm using dhcpcd. If I configure the NIC manually,
it works fine.
The rub is that I need it to get it's address via dhcp because I'm going to
install the hard drive in my dad's mach

But I was expecting that the load average on other machines, which are idle,
would rise up to about 1. The machines are still idle.

I just finished emerge'ing mod_perl and apache. Now I'm trying to get apache
to load mod_perl when it starts. What do I have to add to the apache.conf
file?
Also, if perl was in my /etc/make.conf file, why wasn't mod_perl emerged as a
prequisite for apache?

Well, I just finished installing Gentoo on an older machine. I go to reboot
as the final step and discover that the drive had Quantum's Dynamic Drive
Overlay installed and that grub didn't overwrite it.
So, is there a way to remove the overlay without destroying my Gentoo install?

Some time ago, I booted a Knoppix CD to demo Linux. Somehow, konqueror in KDE
was configured with a button which, when pressed, would use the festival
speach synthisizer to read the current webpage through the speakers.
So, how was this configured? Any ideas?
