Hi all,
I have my HD divided for Gentoo GNU/Linux and Windows but now it's time
to take windows out of it giving all space to Gentoo. How can I erase
the windows partition and resize the Gentoo Partition? I know fdisk is
able to erase partitions but how about resizing them? How can I do that?

Hi all,
Thanks for your replies. I've already tested memory and everything is
fine. I also tested some other stuff in my linux like wget that doesn't
seg fault and other programs don't seg fault also. I think something got
corrupted and I don't think it is hardware. How can I overcome this?

I restarted and after restart my system was completely corrupted (at

Hi all,
I'm running Gentoo on my desktop and somehow while I was working, su'ing
to root and back, I got a segmentation fault while su'ing to root. Then
I tried again and again and I started getting a lot of segmentation

Hi all,
I think I'm missing something simple but I don't know what it is.
I have configured in rc.conf to start gdm along with gnome but it is not
starting gdm when I reboot. It goes to the terminal prompt where it asks
for username and password. What am I missing?

Why can't it mount devfs. I've put nothing about it in fstab. Only
'Automaticly mount at boot time' option in the kernel is enabled. I've
followed the steps at the gentoo site.
Any ideas?

Hi all,
I bought an USB MemoryBird from Fujitsu Siemens. Is that supported under
Gentoo Linux? I've never heard anything about these devices. Any
references or experiences?

Hi Peter,
Thanks for your kind reference to the HOWTO but it seems that the problem is
not with netfilter but I just would like to ask if there is a better way to
add those two lines to the gentoo initi
Hi all again,
I've just emerged KDE, how can I configure X? Is it using xf86config or is
there any 'gentoo way'?
How can I setup all users to use KDE as their default Desktop Manager?

Hi all,
I've just installed Gentoo Linux on my Desktop instead of my old Slackware
that I was using for a long time. I compiled everything from stage 1 and it
seems great. Congratulations for the gentoo developers. Now, since I want to
do everything the right way I'd like to know if there is a coo
