emulation, gentoo provides cd-burning
facilities? I mean, cdrecord uses ide burning? (in all previous systems
I had to use scsi emulation...)
Thank you!

recompiling the kernel. ;) I'm still wondering what happened...
Another question (I come from 5 years of slack so be patient!)... I
noticed it's not necessary an ``opengl-update'' on every kernel
recompilation. Is it a good practice on gentoo systems?

from nvidia's drivers (enable via 4x agp)
- driver nvidia (no PCI directive)
I get a really bad performance:
[EMAIL PROTECTED] sensei $ glxgears
29 frames in 5.0 seconds = 5.800 FPS
33 frames in 5.0 seconds = 6.600 FPS
32 frames in 5.0 seconds = 6.400 FPS
... and glxgears is run *whithout
;)
Nothing... :( With this lousy gpu I should reach 30~50 fps when running
glxgears in window (not full screen).
What else?

Anyone experienced this issue?

Hi.
I can't make my PCs use indifferently Gnome audio and KDE audio systems.
Students will log on and will use gnome as well as kde, but I'd like to
have them use also the audio.
It seems to me that alsa is incompatible with other audio systems... is
it true?

Moreover, I always configured my kernels in the way I configured this
one, and since the 2.0.18 I had no problems with ps/2 keyboards... and
the other 8 machines are working perfectly.

Good luck,
There's no ``Drivers'' menu in the 2.4.23 kernel configuration. Where
should I look for?
