hey im having issues with my digital camera memorystic reader and my 32
meg thumbdrive usb storage thing :-p both are flash storage. i was curious
how to check whats on the usb bus and what modules i need to read a sony

hey ive been strugling to figure out how to get my nomad zen to work with
gentoo, is there any special files i need? does it just mount? i tried
mounting it like my sony digital cam with flash disk and that didnt work
out too well i tried a few other things sda1 2 sdb i see in the emerge

but xmms and mplayer isnt. actually, no sound is except when i use aplay.

well i should have tried the aplay function before i blamed alsa :-p i
tried it on a mp3 and even tho it couldnt play it it generated static like
a telephone does showing there was data and sound. so sound works but for
some reason xmms doesnt despite a recompile nore does mplayer. why wont
they us

boot and tried to manually start it but it didnt seem to start, it was

gentoo for somthing embedded? i was hoping to get something small like

hey i found a funny behavior! try using phoenix to surf your hard drive. i
went to /root to move some files around and a folder became out of view
anyways i allready had the file and was in the dragging mode and when i
tried to let go in a manner to make it do nothing it actually got phoenix

camera. it has a usb cable attatchment so :) i use it to even store files
sometimes. anyways i got a simple script that allways mounts sda1 every

hey i used to have gkrellm working on my system but after a recompile of
the system... well it wont work anymore, ive checked my make.conf, played
with the +gtk -gtk issues tried everything i could think of (dependency
wise) but it wont emerge :( it errors out with this message [Function
src_compi
i emerged alsa-utils tried to use it and got an error, rebooted and still
got the error "mixer attach default error" the one im supposed to not
get. it seems like the alsa modules got lodded correctly, i even
tried the insmod method, tha didnt seem to work... any clues?
