How do I disable pam (USE=-pam?) and how to recompile everything?
just disabling in USE and emerge -up world does nothing.
Is it recommended or do I run into trouble without pam?

I read something about it and how to solve it, but can't find it and don't
remeber it any more... can someone help?

Hi,
I got this message while booting and don't know how to solve it:

* Initialising ALSA [ok]
I thought this has something to do with parallel port, so I enabled support in
the kernel and recompiled
As Ingo B. pointed out, i had to change CFLAGS in make.conf to -O2, emerge
lame and restore CFLAGS to the old values.
Is it worth to create a bug report out of this?
