Hi,
since you seem to be german, there's an article about SW-/MoBo-/HW-RAID in the
current issue of c't magazine.
Thank you, bought the issue - it was rather helpful to me!
Ciao,

Hi,
My computer at home is seriously old already. It has a K6 CPU, an motherboard
with VIA chips (chipset (?) VT82C598), and about 10G total hard disk space
(spread over 2 hd's - can possibly add a 3rd hd, too).
I've been using debian until now, BUT I'm less and less satisfied with that b/c

That would be GENTOO_VM according to the docs.
Hi,
I looked at this tool. It allows me to patch the bios table w/ resolution and
bpp value - but not with the rest of the mode line timings. How can I change
that?
Furthermore I'm using a SUN GDM5410 monitor - which seems to have nonstandard
timings...
still puzzled,

I have an older gentoo systen which accumulated some cruft over the time
- I have to clean it up :-)
I want to list all installed SLOTTED packages where more than one
version is installed. The old (deprecated) qpkg had the option --dups.

I'm installing a new computer w/ gentoo (had Windows 2003 Server on it before).
I'm installing from the minimal installation CD (tried w/ knoppix before). BUT

Hi,
I found out (using the source inserting log statements :-) that my

make.conf was the culprit.
For reasons too silly to explain here :-) I built up my USE variable in

USE=$USE more flags

Hi,
First thing to do is to make sure you have support for your mobos'

This support for your mobo chipset is crucial. The chipset support
must be compiled statically into the kernel, not as a module!
