Attached is the DMESG output for the Poweredge 6450. It has some megaraid
errors that I've never
seen before. My googling seems not to work today:

So far, it seems the problem is related to the fact that the CD-ROM drive is
SCSI, and plugged to
the Adaptec controller (aic7xxx) the server has.
Any kernel command line parameters you think could help me out here?
