I recall this too. But then I read that hydroxyl OH- has a positive effect on the ozone. Is there any way to send a generators of hydroxyl, some sort of catalysator that would turn up that and help to create ozone which is said to be higher in the presence of OH- ions. > From: gorm...@waitros

Hey, Eli - But for you, we in the U.S. could have been the ones with the million buck and leading these meetings. Make you feel warm? On Mon, Dec 7, 2009 at 10:18 AM, David Keith wrote: > Here are notes on a three recent meetings > > > > 1. Video’s and slides of the October 30th MIT symp

I don't think the politicians are being told about the "elephant in the room", which is the Arctic sea ice. I wrote this letter to the Guardian (but not published): --- The elephant in the room “We are still in charge of our own destiny” is the hopeful message from Fred Pearce (“Why C

Folks, This is a good first start, but ... I am a big believer in specifying some very simple idealized experiments in that I think these are often the easiest to analyze and the most illuminating regarding system behavior. It is often good to change one thing at a time so that it is easy to ana

Dear Ken, Thanks for your comments. I agree that multiple experiments like you outline would be interesting, but the CMIP5 modelers made it clear that they are very busy with all the other agreed-on runs, and would only have time for a very small number of geoengineering runs. That is why we

Dear Alan, I agree with Ken. More runs are needed. It seems that another redundant set of SRM experiments are lined up and we can predict the outcomes. Why not try and find some solutions to GW and try some new runs? I have outlines these in the past and received no reply. Spare me from re

Maybe we are talking about two different things then. Maybe there should be one set of semi-realistic simulations for the CMIP5 modelers and another set of standard simple and idealized, but helpful, reference simulations for people to do (as a courtesy to the community) if they are planning to sp
