Hi Torben, the only thing that keeps on bugging me about OL3 is that is not as good as a teaching tool for WMS protocol as OL2 was due to its canvas use. When doing workshops it was nice and simple to just right click the map in the preview and show people that it was indeed just an image and its

Over the past while, we have been gradually removing OpenLayers 2 from GeoServer. At this point, the only part of GeoServer left which uses OL2 is the WMS OpenLayers output format, which uses OL3 by default, but can be configured to use OL2 by way setting the ENABLE_OL3 system property or format o
