No... but since the catalog is based on XML files, every restart, redeploy or
catalog reload implies a rather long

I dabbled with GeoServer a year or two ago, so I'm not entirely
unfamiliar with it, but I haven't touched it for a while.
Suddenly a project has popped up for which I think GeoServer is a good
way to go, and I'd like to get any quick-start suggestions I can, so I
