I used gdal_translate to convert tiff file into png format and png format is
one of the supported one.
But still the same error is coming.

Can you give us a general break-down of the types of data-stores?
Also, what does the GeoServer log say when you try and access the admin
page? If possible can you change the logging level to GeoTools Developer?
