I installed Geoserver on Ubuntu as a WAR in Apache Tomcat. Therefore, there
is no data_dir created. Now I'm searching for a way to backup a workspace
and all it's layers and configuration then restore it on new server. Seems
like I cannot do that without the data_dir. Any idea?

I have a PostGIS database that gets updated about once every two hours. Since
Geoserver datastore do not do any caching, I was looking for service does

I installed GeoServer (at tomcat) on two machines, windows (GeoServer 2.1.2)
and ubuntu (GeoServer 2.2.3).
on windows, the timestamp of my data is exactly as it is in my database, but
on ubuntu, it displays [-3 hours] of database timestamp

What i get back from GeoServer via WFS request is:
In my app, I use GeoServer to serve my features and OpenLayers as a client.
My data contains dates info in this format: 'yyy-mm-dd hh-mm-ss' but when it
comes from GeoServer, it appears like: 2013-01-08T06:17:37+03:00 !!
How can I change its format?
