I was working on this a while back and would be happy to try to maintain
this module for now. I don't have any plans to add to it (other than
maybe some more test cases); but I'm happy to look into bugs and attempt
to keep it up to date.

Nice work. I made a few minor comments for xml-po, some of the demo
modules, postgis module, and the emf demo modules.
I am also +1 on all the ones you flagged as remove. I am looking forward
to a smaller code base, it is long overdue.
