Dear GEPers,
For efficiency's sake I have combined here two bits of information, a
query, and an invitation.

I believe students with environmental interests are seeing Europe as a

Hello everyone,
Something like this already exists ... There is a section for environmental
politics programs on the ISA's Environmental Studies Section website. The
ESS site can be found at www.isanet.org/sections/ess or just point your

Hi Kirsten and Henril and others,
I also think this is a great idea. For me, I would be quite interested

tradition of Americans going to graduate school in Europe, but I have
started to have students ask me about that, and I w
Hi Henrik, I think this would be great and a big help for our students!

Well, I launched into a discussion of Orwell's 1984 in class when we
were discussing these initiatives. Although a satire of Britain in
1948, it keeps getting more relevant.
Thanks, everyone for the great responses - keep 'em coming!

Hi all,
I originally sent this message just to Kate, but given the interest so many

I have used LeGuin's THE DISPOSSESSED to stimulate some good discussion

Hi Kate
I regularly include a work of fiction or non-fiction literature in my
classes; the students easily relate to it and allows them to engage in
deconstruction of pop culture etc... they usually love this part of the
class.
