Has anyone tried MosfetPaint:

If so, how do you think it compares with the Gimp? The author
acknowledges that the Gimp isn't a _paint_ app, like he's apparently
developing.
I was just curious as to your thoughts on MosfetPaint. :)

I need to be able to take text with anti-aliasing and fill it with a
pattern or a gradient or an image, this is for the web. I can't figure
out how to use either layer masks or what in order to maintain
different transparencies in the text that is anti-aliased. I have
stuggled with this a while,

good calls, i have finally managed to accumlate all of the tools that a
15 to 25 year old could use to have fun and show off with their

The other letters work fine. Did I screw up something w/gtk? Or is it Gimp?
Hmm and they worked up through 1.3.12.
