[Gimp-user] Library confusion

I compiled and installed the latest version of gtk, gimp etc., and nearly everything works fine. With one exception: The program 'ossxmix' complains about missing libraries libgtk-1.2 and libgdk-1.2. I'm confused. Are these parts of an ancient version of gtk (without +)? And if so, where can I do

Thanks Yosh for the definitive answer. I've never looked at the gimp's code base so that would be a huge effort for me to fix this small problem. I tried Carol's solution of a custom gimprc and that seems to be a good enough solution. In order to get it to work I had to first load the standa
