I would go with a wacom
I have the Bambo Fun Model and it works in Gimp 8.04
I have heard horror stories from other cheaper brands

Fun working and I am having some issues. For instance the pen quits
working, and it doesn't seem to recognize the two different tips of the
stylus. Also the pressure sensitivity responds in wacky ways, for example
its not
place one hue
with another' was pretty clear and too the point. I can attach files to
show you how the fill command is behaving, because it seems like it is not
acting like you describe how it should act.

What I did to solve a problem similar to this (need a vending machine to
face the opposite way). I flipped the machine to create a mirror image,
and so of course the text was backward on the face of the machine, I
then selected the texted by it-self and reflipped it back to the
original direct
I just started using GIMP in the last few weeks and so far I am loving
it. I have one quick question concerning image manipulation. Is there
any way to set more then four pick points when doing prespective? Or is
there a 'strech' tool, or something along those lines?
