comparison. Your monitor displays as xx ppi, usually between 72 and
100, so the image appears very large as you scanned to 24000 ppi. If
it is being displayed at 100 ppi, that makes the full image 240 inches
wide :^)

- rotate - crop again
Because the Rectangular Section won't give an exact crop. How can you
get ONLY the picture cropped and NO white background space? I would
like only the picture included in the image, and no white frame around
it.

If you would like a look at the rpm I updated gimp with, it's
available at:

the directory structure and requirements are within the rpm.

no, run the 'perl Makefile.PL' as {user} and run 'make' as {user}.
then run as root, checkinstall
checkinstall will run/convert make install into an rpm and update
the rpm database for you.

I do not know about the other commands, but you would _normally_ run
'make' and everything else except 'make install' as {USER}, then run
'make install' as root.
