Hi,
many of us suffer from incompatibilities of recent Gimp versions with
previous versions.
Is there any list of suggestions how to replace these.
Sometimes the header files suggests replacements but not in all cases,
e.g.
gimp_drawable_detach
gdk_pixbuf_new_from_inline

Just looking at my kubuntu Gimp 2.8.22 installation and for some reason the
'buntu package does not include the file-jp2-load plugin. Why, I do not know. It
is there in ealier versions and is there in Gimp 2.10 flatpak.

Gimp can only read a jp2 (jpeg2000) file format, Nothing useful to write a jp2
Use some other application as a converter such as XnViewMP

circular path with a bump out to show part of the image that extends beyond the
circular path. In my experience I would either cut the circle or delete a short
section of the circle, then link the end points of the "bump-out"

I can import Fuji RAF (Raw) files into RawTherapee and have designated GIMP as
the external editor but when I try to send the file to GIMP it will open but I
get the following message:

So, I click on the quick mask tool (or whatever you call it), and then I open
the Brushes "pane", select a brush, but cannot size it unless I then open the
tool options "pane". That actually worked once. Now I get nothing when I click

I have now downloaded GIMP 2.10 three times. I am using a MacBook Pro, Mid
2012, running Mojave.
The initial download is smooth, no probs. Click the DNG file and you are
brought an Install Drive. Click that and there is a window with the GIMP icon
