But it did go on the list, didn't it? Sorry if I sent it to the wrong
address - but I am sure I remember Jo replying to thank me, so she at least
read it. Unless I copied her in...

Thanks so much for typing all that out, Lisa - fascinating reading! I loved
the bit about forcing servants to open windowns "even against their will",
you can just imagine a skirmish between mistress and maid. Or, more likely,
one wandering around the house opening windows, and the other quietly
As soon as I posted, I thought of Dr Carr - was he sick or just old? - and
Emily of New Moon's father has consumption before shuffling off.

Thank you, Barbara and everyone who has written an article so far. I hope

I know I should be saving this for the Streatfeild BD but unless I post it
now, I will forget my reaction, and it would be shame to deprive you all of

Just finished it last night, and the reasons I didn't really like are

The worst ever for me - perhaps it caught me at an off moment - was that bit
in Northern Lights with the chapter about the lost boy. I may never re-read
the book, though I really liked it. I was distraught, not nice sentimental

Has anyone seen Finding Neverland yet? I gather they they have killed off
poor Mr Llewellyn-Davies before the film begins so possibly not madly
accurate - but who cares, so long as the costumes and sets look pretty? Not
me, that's for sure.

I read a fanfic on the Chaletian bulletin board about a Chalet Girl In
Trouble last Sunday, and I cried at the end of that. It was very good, in
case the author is on the list!

Yes, I had forgotten all about this one ((having read it whilst at American

I found it unpleasant and unrealistic at the same time.
I am actually getting on with it a lot better now (about 3/4 of the way

I know what you mean about it being unpleasant, that was
At the risk of sound paranoid, it is worth investigating further, especially
