Frankly, I can live without git traffic over HTTP at the moment, but not
without the git subdomain, which is just super duper intuitive :)
I really look forward to that improvement you just mentioned! Good work!

Oh sorry, forgot to mention. Yes I did restart the app by restarting the
httpd service and rebooting the computer once.

tried both http:// and https://, since i have not
explicitly disabled the SSL in gitorious.yml, the login page is always SSL.
Nonetheless, I have also tried with SSL disabled, and still I get the same
error.

Sorry to bump this, but I could really use help.
I have tried a lot of different things and just stuck. I saw one warning
message that git.mydomain.edu clashes with the internal GIT path or host the
system uses, so I have tried a different subdomain, but its the same
problem.
