I'm honestly more surprised by the alternative. I've rarely seen a
mass market high-speed Internet connection (DSL, cable, et
Do you guys know that Fairpoint does not offer an SLA on Business DSL? Not

My local ISP has been (temporarily) buying a bunch of DSL from Fairpoint.
When a (large) number of DSL lines went down, FairPoint could not find the
customer data on the ISP!!!

Verizon doesn't want the lines they still own in the Eastern half of
Massachusetts. Verizon wants high population density metro areas
only. VZ would prolly try to sell them off, except the Mass PUC isn't

Dear Anonymous Donor,
Thanks for your generous contribution to the spectacular GNLUG 15th
anniversary celebration.
We had a great time and raised many frosty mugs at Milly's. There
were at least 20 people who turned up from far and wide. It was
really nice.

Verizon would not want the lines back if you gave them to Verizon.
Verizon does not want the rural land-line business. They have been

Hi, folks,
The tentative schedule for the November 5th DLSLUG meeting is a
keysigning party, both GPG and the CACert Web of Trust. The NH/VT area
is sparse with WoT notaries, but I have some who are willing to make
long drives if we have enough interest (which ought to also remedy the
shortfall).
Part of what we do at work involves the mobile development space.
What I'm going to like the Android is the common development platform.
If you are coding a Java app for a Blackberry -- is it for the Curve, Storm,
Bold, etc,etc CDMA or GSM? You have to have all the phones and plans and

Joshua,
First of all, let me say it was good to see you again last night at the
"15th Anniversary of GNHLUG".
Secondly, what you say is true about the signed images. The only way
you could get an unlocked, unsigned G1 was to join the Google
Developer's program ($25.) and then you could buy *one*
