gnucash-1.1.26/guile problem

Hi, I'm having a pretty hard time getting gnucash 1.1.26 to even configure with all the accessory programs it needs. The point where I'm stuck now is guile. I've installed guile in /usr/local. The ld.so.conf file knows about /usr/local/lib and I've done an ldconfig. Yet, configure keeps telli
