Dear gnucash developers.
I'm having a look at the new 1.9.6 version.
Basically its great, so thanks a lot for those who have spent and are
spending time on the software. Now, I wouldn't send an email just for
that. I have a minor feature suggestion triggered by gnucash new look:

Dear Thomas,
Since 1.9.6 is the first official beta, I have uploaded it to the
Debian unstable distribution. (Previous 1.9 releases were only in
Debian experimental.)
Good !
However I'm not willing to switch my box to unstable just to play and test
with the new version. Do you think it wou
I'm not sure Gnucash is eligible, but it could be nice to have students
hired by google that would work on gnucash? I guess there are quite a few
tasks to be completed...

I'm not sure if these are representative of enough currencies, or for that
matter even more than one, and I'm not informed about the obsolete
currencies. I'll buy one of these if you find one them to be acceptable:

So... Do we REALLY need a new splash screen?
I think Patrick has a point. The "old" spash screen shows the "old"
gnucash in small. If there is a new GUI style/icons and so, it should be
reflected by the splash screen.

Dear Patrick,
Joking aside though ... your observation is a perfectly reasonable argument
against the background. It does suggest you liked the variations on top of
the bill better than those with the generic backgrounds.
Yes and no. Having a background with bank notes is a good idea as fa
Dear Geert,
I would like to offer a "new" splash screen nonetheless. If you've got

Hello Derek,
These are my notes for getting the gnucash tarball, and later
gnucash svn, to build under debian, in particular the packages
I needed to install. I had been hoping to clean them up and
Maybe these notes could be added somewhere to the source tree.
I would suggest to put them as

ISTM that subversion's 'fsfs' backend does store changesets internally, by
the way.
So I think that svn as a better cvs is a good move for *gnucash*, although
it may not necessarily be the case for other softwares with different
aims and cultures.
