I'll try to get more information as soon as I can.

Folks,
I have a fair amount of experience working with databases of all kinds

Perhaps the right answer is to have a different function, "move". In fact, the
first thing I tried was to 'drag' the transaction from one account to another.
Cut/paste was my last resort. I would propose that it's better from a user

Folks,
I have a couple of problems to report with 1.4.2. These may have been
fixed already in 1.5.1?
I uploaded some qif data via pm2qif. This went well, except that Pocket

up in the top level of GNUCash. I don't know
Folks,
1.Is there a way to automatically create a set of accounts, or
import them all at once from quickbooks? I am lazy and don't want to

consulting business accounts into gnucash.
Thanks,

Never mind. The installation from rpm appears to actually run, despite the ldconfig
problems noted. I also forgot to use -U, so the old version wasn't deleted but
that's pilot error.

This discussion on internal representations reminds me of an idea I had once,

There's a suse rpm on the gnucash ftp site, but AFAIK we're still ironing
out a couple of dependencies. I'm running suse 6.4, and have a missing
'g-wrap'. Folks running 6.3 seem to have others. I am using Gnome with
going through the account creation process a whole bunch of times.
TIA,

This was inspired by reading the discussion on the "Report calculations in
the engine" thread.
I can see the client/server architecture being very useful, esp. if it can
be adapted to allow web interfacing - I could then provide a web interface
for each of my clients, and I might even be able to
Alternatively, if we can get Stephan Kahnt's RPM's hosted, you might
not need to compile it yourself if you don't want to.
I've just downloaded the new RPM, will be installing on SuSE 6.4 shortly.
