Hmmm, this gets more confusing.
If I change the register display to 'double' from 'auto double', the
'hidden fields' disappear altogether - they are not displayed even if I
click on the transaction and make it the current transaction.
If change back to 'auto double' the previous behaviour return
I'm currently using 1.3.8 on Mandrake 7.01. I downloaded the RPMS from
the gnucash site. I normally display registers in 'auto double'.
The problem: When I complete a transaction, e.g., a check, I click on
the number field, press '+' and then I continue to the field under the
check number and se

A quick question:
Yesterday I downloaded a qif file from my online bank of all scheduled
transactions. I tried to import the qif file into gnucash - nothing
happened - no error messages, no dialog boxes, no entries in the
appropriate account for the imported transactions. I didn't look

I recently transfered funds from a checking account in bank A to a
checking account in bank B. After the check cleared, I wrote a check
from bank B - with the cursor in the check number field I pressed '+'
and then went on to the rest of the check. I was in the process of
printing the check (I hav

Just downloaded the 'new' 1.3.7, installed and booted. First thing I
noticed - the "open" icon on the toolbar is gone
Now to open an account file, I have to click on 'file' and then 'open'
(or use the keyboard - but then I can never remember which keystroke
does what).
Is this on purpose???
I have been attempting to learn scheme and create a new report for
gnucash for about a week now. I downloaded the MIT Scheme documentation
(reference manual) and have read that (best described as suitable for
those expert in Lisp). I used one of the reports already written as a
basis and have modi

I have a simple question about what to do with opening balances. In
starting my gnucash accounts file, I had to put starting balances into
quite a few accounts. Since these opening balances didn't really come
from any other account(s), they had no transfer from/to field. I tried
"scrubbing" all of
I forgot to ask on my last message. When I went to download 1.3.4 again
today, I noticed that the gnucash web site says that 1.3.4 added
automatic check numbering. I cannot seem to get it to work or even find
how to turn it on. I looked in the register for my checking accounts, I
looked in the pre
Yesterday I downloaded 1.3.5 and installed in order to get the
transaction delete function working. After I installed, I booted and
opened my account file. After a few moments of looking at a specific
account and experimenting with the transaction delete function, I
started getting weird results f
