I'd like to understand if gnucash + mysql supports avoiding simultaneous
editors (e.g., via locks).
In more detail:
I want to keep accounts for a small organisation in which we've decided
several people should have access to the books for transparency and
distribution of work. One possibility
Ken,
You might also want to investigate this page, particularly the section on
locks. I doubt you’ll find one for GnuCash, but somehow that system might have
an overall lock on it.

Try:
1) View->Filter By
2) Set Start and End Dates
3) Account Report
Cheers!
David
P.S. - Don’t forget to re-set your View settings afterward!

Graham,
Once your balance column has disappeared, what happens if you then grab the
*right* hand edge of the Description column, and drag it all the way to the
*left*, and let go? When I take these steps, I am left with a register that
shows the complete balance column, and the Description

I would like to print a report for a single expense account listing
transactions and total amount spent for a defined time period. I'm not
seeing one on the Report menu but it might be there with a heading I don't
associate with my need.
Is there such a report available?
TIA,
Rich
Please remember to copy the list on all replies. “Reply All” works well for
this.
OK. What happens if you dismiss the dialog? Does GnuCash remain unresponsive?

The first place I’d go is ubuntuforums.org and check out the Hardware forum,
asking for help there with specifics on your system will probably get you the
fastest solution.

Running gnucash in Ubuntu 14.04 inside a Oracle VirtualBox. gnucash keeps
crashing while I am performing inputs, nothing unusual. Crashed three times
in two hours. I get an error report but can't find a way to copy it out and
include in this message.

So , forgive me if this is a basic stupid newbie question, but where do I
find the screen driver? Do I look in HP or Ubuntu libraries?

I missed that. Thanks.
Ken, dconf not working can be caused by corrupted dconf config files. This
can happen if there is power fail

Is GnuCash crashing with a Windows dialog box saying that it has quit, or is it
just hanging up?

I would expect that the default preferences and the changed preferences

Would it be possible you have a blank as first character in your security
editor (i.e. " ABF.L")? The screenshot you sent give me this impression...
But it may be just a visual artifact.

I've always been able to just edit the transaction while the reconcile window

switch back. I believe there might even be an option to edit the transaction
in the reconcile dialog.

Thanks for the response, Deva. I have tried every combination of date format,

different times so I agree - if I had tried to use those particular settings
I would have had an error. I have followed your instructions to the
Hi,
Yes, I can print from other programs. This problem happens only when I try
to print a rapport from GnuCash.
Sorry for my English.
