I found what I feel is a bug - see attachment. It's basically the same as
https://bugs.gnucash.org/show_bug.cgi?id=779888
reported by Christopher Lam, and marked as fixed. But I don't think it is
fixed, so I added a comment.
There's a link to another bug on that bug, but the link points to nowhe

Kudos Simon! It’s nice to introduce a new anything. A willingness to tell
others about it is awesome! I like 6our attitude.

First, thank you to everyone who put ideas in about providing an
easy-to-launch CD-based GNC to present to my accountant, and the ensuing
discussion w.r.t. portable apps. I shall look into that in due course.
But, for what it's worth, I figured I'd report back on my meeting with my
CPA. They had n

gnucash-4.13-setup.exe from our SourceForge or Github repository? Do you
believe that because that's what you did when you packaged an app, because you

Thanks. I’ll keep an eye out for it, and try that if it happens again. I have
Xcode and the command line tools installed on that machine, so if it happens, I
can try that.
It was several weeks before instances so far.

Following on from
https://lists.gnucash.org/pipermail/gnucash-user/2023-January/105287.html to
clear up a few misconceptions.
I have enough experience with PortableApps to have packaged an app. It just
repackages distributions so, like GnuCash, there is no reason for it to
contain any source code

Sorry I might not have been clear here.
You are right, when it comes to GNC accounts. I was more thinking to make that
placeholder as an asset account in GNC, and simply think of it as a
placeholder from the functional perspective.

You cannot pass entries in placeholder account. It is just a header account.

Can the placeholder be the asset account itself? Is that a good practice?

Hi Everyone,
I want to explore an OFX Direct Connection to my bank(s).
Currently I down load to OFX and then import. But I would prefer to have a real
time update.
Please can I get some feed back:
1. Have you successfully connected to a UK bank were there any issues?
2. Has anyone had any secu
I could be mistaken, but I think the main reason for upgrading to a
final minor release before each major jump is simply for backwards
compatibility if needed. But if you're proceeding with a backup at each
stage (which should be the case anyway) then one could just revert to a
backup and try a

Phyllis, Simon
Thanks, that's as I hoped.
The heads up on the (potential) problem if the account on the other side
of the transaction has also been reconciled has been noted.
Thanks again
