Folks,
A relative first pointed Wendell out to me on a visit to Goa. I had not heard
of his fame then but he was, like us, on his way to a lesser known cultural
show.
I soon picked up on Wendell’s excellent articles and have mentioned before that
he might have missed his vocation. However,

Some personal recollections -
Wendell and I were not close friends but we enjoyed a warm comradeship
forged by our love of Goa and Goemkarponn. Goa was the bond that
instinctively brought us together.
Our friendship began in 2006 when I threw my hat into the churn to
Shocked when I read the headlines in all the three Goan Newspapers in
English. He will remain a hero because he fought against all forms of
Prejudice. Some of these especially towards the Kunbis is unbelievable in
the 21 Century ...but sad to say it exists.
He died peacefully.May PEACE REIGN
Wendell Rodriigues was an openly gay and social activist who would
have liked us to be kind to gays and gay priests, too.
Even if the Pope allows priests to marry it will not solve the problem
of gay priests. Let us accept a person's sexual preference as a
private matter - secular or communal -
