I think that the reason that it works for you is that you is that you
built this on Vista. I'd bet that the OSGEO4W GRASS 6.4RC3 is built on
XP.
It looks like we need both XP and Vista versions unless the Vista
version works equally well on both.

Subject: [GRASS-dev] GRASS 6.4 Windows issues
In addition to the v.type.sh issue, there are at least 2 more places
where commands don't work in Windows.
Hi,
I try to add some features to 'border' and now there is three types.
To select I use a subcommand of grid: format #, but any better idea?
The JPG show also the implementation of two type of grid-lines, the major line
has always a text and the minor line never has text. If both style of lin

Even from the command line processor in tcltk, r.patch fails with an
unspecified error.
The r.patch (and v.patch) modules will not open in gui format.
I don't know if this is just vista specific or all windows yet.

IMPORTANT: I forgot to say that I've built gdal with MinGW, but I
suppose that in OSGeo4W it's built with MSVC, right?
A curiosity: has grass been built against the MSVC gdal?

Works for me (mingw/msys build on vista), v.patch and v.rast.stats all
work in develbranch_6.
However, they fail when tested on trunk.
The v.patch window opens but then crashes when I run it.
v.rast.stats gives this errror:

I've finally compiled a basic grass-6.4.0RC3 on Windows Vista from scratch
(also libraries), without wxpython and geos (I have to solve build errors).
Now g.proj.exe doesn't crash, so it seems a problem related to the actual
OSGeo4W stack...

I am a Masters student from International Institute of Information
Technology-Hyderabad India, looking to participate in google summer of code
under the OSGeo umbrella. More specifically, I want to work in the
parallelizing GRASS modules using openMP (MPI is also fine).
