I'm not sure the accented "œ" exists in any font per se. I believe its created on the fly by using a combining diacritical (I have not looked at the lexer to check, so I might be wrong). What's probably missing is that combining diacritical, which is why you get the "œ" but not the accent. I

When installing Gregorio 4.2 over TeXLive 2016 the existing GregorioTeX files in the TeXLive directory are not touched. This is deliberate so that should you decide to uninstall 4.2 your TeXLive 2016 installation will be restored to its default state (at least as far as our files are concerned)
