While executing the leverage command from the GUI (Model
->Tests -> Influential observations)
the twin graphs produced don't really seem like gretl's
habitual graphs.
I used the following script for quarterly data from 1950:1 to
2000:4

You're right, there's something broken about the x-axis in the
leverage/influence p
I am sorry to report that I still have the both: "gretlw32.exe has
encountered a problem" and the "The instruction at "0x7c91103c"
referenced memory at "0x010c9294" . The memory could not be
"written"." type of errors using yesterday's snapshot.

My Windows system seems to run OK with all other programs but I don't
trust it a bit. That is why I also suspect this can be something to
the with windows, its drivers, other software installed, some malware
etc. I can try to replicate i on my wife's computer but she is out of
town right now.

I don't recall if this is the same problem, but I've just begun getting a
similar problem:
open a gretl session
do some stuff (no problems)
save the session
click on the X to close gretl
gretl closes, but I get the "gretlw32.exe has
encountered a problem" dialog.
