Hi,
I am using Debian Testing (gretl 1.9.6 from official archives) and I
installed X-12-ARIMA package from the main page:
http://sourceforge.net/projects/gretl/files/x12a/x12a_0.3-3_i386.deb/download:
grzes:/home/ga/Downloads# dpkg -i x12a_0.3-3_i386.deb

I'm having a hard time trying to install X-12-ARIMA on my system:
Amd64, Ubuntu 9.04.
Basically all available executables for X-12-ARIMA where compiled on different
systems and do not run on mine.
I tried forcing core architecture, eetc. but still the X-12 option under gretl
is not working

Dear all,
I just downloaded Gretl for Windows and the X-12-ARIMA and TRAMO/SEATS
software but I cannot reach these last programms from the "Variable" menu in
Gretl.
I just run the self-installer file for both of them. Do I have to choose a
particular directory where to download the programms?

Ok, I figured out the problem.
I had modified the x12arima.sh script to install "x12a" in /usr/bin, and
I discovered that in order to get x-12-arima to work from within gretl,
one must have two things:
1. For some reason gretl requires the existance of the directory
$HOME/gretl/x12arima, x-12-
I am building gretl for use in the Sorcerer Linux distribution and have
no problems except when I try to use x-12-arima, I get the
X-12-ARIMA COMMAND FAILED
pop-up.
I've tested x-12-arima using the examples provided and it works fine.
What could I be missing?
Thanks,
Rob
