I'll take a stab at this.
1. Yes you may remove the gui interface but last time I ran GRML it
didn't have a gui interface so that shouldn't be a problem.
2. You may install any text based software you like. If I remember

Does grml1.0 have accessibility for blind people? can I still use grml
swspeak
and then swspeak to get software speech going? I do not at this time have a
DoubleTalk hardware serial-rs232 synthesizer so i need software speech. also
