If I understand your question right you seem to have missed out on a
great feature for the inbox:
First, to disable the automatic opening of newly created Projs/Acts
you simply tick on/off the checkbox in the process inbox.
Regarding tagging etc, if you write this:

The MgtdProcessInbox macro really should be split into a plugin, and a
config page - with the plugin loading an array of terms and their
expansions from the config page.
