Hi Sanjeev , Thanks for ur reply. I changed the configure file of pango as follows have_fontconfig=true have_freetype=true have_xft=true Because i already have them with Xcompiled. Then i Xcompiled pango . It has compiled perfectly and displayed finally as backends: fontconfig X Xf
