I want to use pango in an app to render text to a drawingarea. I have
seen examples that show how to render text in a textview, but not to a
drawingarea. Can you specify the width of the layout to be rendered,
into a drawingarea, with text wrapping and determine the height of the
layout.

I have an icon in the systray with eggstatusicon.c. I connected the
activated signal to it and I can receive double click events.
Is it possible to detect single click also? I know I can do it with
eggtrayicon.c but using it I will miss blinking facility I have with
eggstatusicon.c

sorry, if this is an FAQ, my checks didn't reveal anything:
AFAIK, GTK+ does not have a standard canvas widget. GNOME
does have a canvas widget, but it seems to be not very
popular. And having it in the GNOME libraries is not useful
for programs that should run on multiple platforms (win32).
