Trust me I got the Scrambler out today. Rode it into town got a couple
videos from Blockbuster, helped a couple drivers whose cars where in the
ditch, one Ford ranger that quit, and busted a few drifts. I am glad now
that I got the Polaris. The automatic trans is great in the snow.

Mike;
It seems that some have a little more rear wheel power than others. When
mine had the stock motor it would do 140 and no more. That was without bags.
Some guys have had theirs up higher.

I haven't maxed out the speed on mine but I've come close, with the speedo
registering 245kph.

Hi Rob,
GPS - Global Positioning Satellite. It refers to a navigation device using
the satellites. Since they encircle the entire planet, I believe Australia
would be included. They were launched by the military and have been permitted
for civilian use. Mostly, the satellites hover above our co

The weather in HOUSTON has been great. Yesterday put about 150 miles with my
partner on his Valkyrie.
Thanks to the group on tire selection. The bike feels lighter and more
responsive on Michellin sport pilots 120/70 front.
Going to work this afternoon taking the long route on the GTS.
Enjoy

Don't know about absolute top speed but with stock gearing it can do 140
with no problem. My speedo showed 145 when my GPS unit showed 139 so
error is very small. Oh, this is with a 120/70 MEZ4. At that high of
RPM the tire size will make a difference on the Speedo readings. Overall

Oh, by the way. It's now 9:15 am in Greensboro, NC. We have 6" of snow on
the ground and it's 25 degrees and won't get above 32! Damnit! I jetted the
ZRX yesterday and was hoping to get some riding in. Anyway, I did get a
picture of the GTS speedometer at 120 a couple years ago. Check it out:

Most road tests of the bike, when it was "new stuff" in 1993, had very
close agreement. Seems 148 is it, I think I may have seen some at 145.
And all agree that the Krausers need to be removed for any serious work at
the Bonneville Salt Flats, as they suck off about 10-15 mph. Those of you

I have had mine up to an indicated 155. Running with a 90 CBR 1000 we had
the same top speed. stock tires, stock windscreen at the time, I weight 140

ago I could only pull 150.

I've seen 145 on the speedo, but...
I have 60 series Mez4 front tire that makes my speedo read faster and
I'm running a 44 tooth sprocket on the rear.

I have wondered the same, so I did a little 'fuzzy' math. (Fuzzy meaning
'approximately'.)
At 5250 rpm, I'm doing about 80 mph. Double that to get a 'redline'
figure of 10,500 rpm, and theoritical top speed is about 160 mph.
However
Wind drag, power curve, body weight, tire drag, etc. will s
I've seen 149 on the speedo. Soon maybe I'll have a reading on the GPS.
