Good point Kevin...but to late! I told them to go ahead yesterday we'll
just have to wait and see now won't we!

This sounds more like a load of crap from a Yamaha
DEALER, than from Yamaha itself. Did you hear the
lock-up story from the Yamaha guy yourself? I'm not
trying to defend Yamaha here--none of you have had the
run-around I've had with "them" (I don't
think--correct me if I'm wrong--mine spent a t
Shawny, I always test independently my brakes, never had a lock up knock on Fred

As for your smart ass service guy giving you lip, send him my way I'll blast him
with more than an e-mail. The list forced Yamaha into this policy and that'
Shawn, I'd be glad to have the service manager at my local dealer call your
local dealer. He KNOWS that the ABS when working correctly works on either
wheel or both because HE tested the bike. Granted I did have the Y.E.S. plan
for mine back in May, but that's not the issue here. Let me know, or j

A load of crap indeed Shawn, what is the number for the Yamaha shop?
Seriously! I think we should all call this shop and simply let them know how
the GTS brakes are SUPPOSED to work. I'm not kidding here folks. Simply call
and ask for the service department. "Hello, my name is Kevin Hawkins fr

Saw your post, want out and tested the rear brakes with the front brakes and
without. The rear brakes pulsate either way. Had the HU changed about three
weeks ago, did not have to pay for labor. Hope the folks at YAMAHA make good
on their promise. Anyway, I'll be at the Honda Hoot in Ashe

My rear wheel used to lock up. That was what made me think the ABS was not
working. It wasn't. Yamaha replaced it. Now the rear DOES NOT lock up. I
have a very steep driveway which accumulates sand & gravel at the bottom.
Used to always skid some. Now pulses instead. Front never locke

It IS total BS that the rear wheel is SUPPOSED to lock up, or that it WILL
if you do not apply the front brake concurrently, even at very low speeds
that might be considered too slow for the HU or the ABS electronics to
react. I can cause HU pulsing on sand covered asphalt even at speeds under
10
I forgot to add that I have had a replacement HPU under warranty.

Shawn;
They are full of crap!!! My rear wheel has never locked up when
applying it by itself. I just recently tested the front and rear separately
and the ABS works independently on each end. Now I do get air in the back
system but that is a different manner. Sounds like Yamaha is gett
Wrong. I always test my rear alone... IT SHOULD NOT LOCK UP!

I had a spongy rear brake and did a bleed job
just yesterday. I tested the rear brake alone to
see if I could get it to lock up and it did not!
The ABS kicked in just like it is supposed to.
This is without using the front at all. So the
line about having to use front and rear is crap.
