Sound Forge, compared to Gold Wave, is like comparing a Catilac to a Chevy,
both have their uses, but one has many more options while the other doesn't
do things quite as well. In fact, without knowing either package, Sound

Sorry, I didn't leave enough time after the play which resumes the sound

It seems to work fine!

Jeff,
To resume a file once it has been paused, simply call the Play method,
and it will pick up from where you paused it.
Calling Invalidate with your sound's ID will indeed unload it from
memory. Remember that with VBScript, using parenthesies on function
calls with no return value is, for
Thanks Steve. I see how to play and pause.
How do I resume after a pause? I tried pause and play and resume but
these didn't work.
Also, when I am done with the sound, I think I would use
SOAudioKit.Invalidate(MySoundID)
To get the sound file out of memory. Is this correct?
Thanks,

Jeff,
Because this is a shared object, the only way to keep track of your own
sounds is by a number which the Create and Load methods return. Change
your snippet to the following, and it should work.
Dim mySoundID
mySoundID = SOAudioKit.Load("AudioKitTest.wav")
SOAudioKit.Play mySoundID

I see how to get the shared object and play a tone with the audioKit,
but could we get a working example of how to play, pause, and stop a
file from disk.
Using SOAudioKit for my shared object, I tried:
SOAudioKit.Load("AudioKitTest.wav")
SOAudioKit.Play("AudioKitTest.wav")
This did not w
This is a tough question, and one I don't like to answer because
everyone's definition of what's tolerable is different. I use it, and
yes, sometimes it's a bit of a pain, but I've been using it for years

David,
Just as an FYI, I have been using Sound Forge for the past decade. There
are some features, especially in the newer versions, which could likely
benefit from scripting, but I have never found the interface challenging
enough to warrant such an endeavor.

Just turn off auto determine highlight in the active window and set it
with the mouse on a highlighted block and it works fine.

Just for our information:
Is it the way, that SoundForge is not accessible at all, right out of the
box, with WE? Or, is it that people want it scripted, so as to get certain
features more easily operated? Kind of a bit confused as to what the whole
discussion is trying to accomplish. :)

Thanks, Tim. Yeah, a bummer indeed. And after removing about 6 feet of
clay-filled soil on 3 sides, filling it back in with rocky gravel, and
putting in about 5 miles of drainage pipes heading every which way but

Hey Tom,
Really sorry to hear about your studio - that's a real bummer. Hope you're
doing well otherwise.
Best wishes.
