I think this is the YV, since

A one-hop (up and down) satellite delay is about 250 ms since:
- it's 22,500 miles up and 22,500 miles down for a total of 45,000 miles
- speed of light is 186,000 miles per second
So it's about 1/4 of a second delay, and I have no idea how the 450 ms echo
was generated other than wild id
Estimado Senor Klemetz:
I - like you - was assuming there are two stations and that one has a direct
feed and the other has a delayed feed, possibly through two satellite hops.
It seems unlikely such a long echo would happen with only one station - it
would have to somehow be receiving two feeds
153 (not 155) is Algeria with Chaine 1 from Bechar. There's no one on 173
that I've seen reported, but I suspect you had the normal R.Mediterranee
Internationale from Morocco on 171. Somehow it seems you have added an extra
2 KHz to the frequencies.

If you take the time to look at the HCDX archives you will see that I posted
a correction of 171 and 153 kc and and explanation of how I derived 173 and
155 kc.

is right. When posts sent after mine (Mark Connelly's) appeared but mine didn't,
I assumed there was a hiccup in the
HCDX server. But there was simply a busy admin and a queue of messages and
somehow posts were out of order, so no problem.

I don't know what machines are best / worst but would not count on any of
them to be perfect. To compensate for the lack of perfection, I always use
snap-together style ferrite chokes on all cables coming into and out of the
laptop. Fair-Rite makes a few, and Radio Shack carries one, or a similar

strong signal handling point of view, and these mods will help.

I could not agree more with Herman, and almost wrote the same thing. Every
electronically-translated document I have ever seen was a piece of comedy.
A better answer is to get a reception report form that has been translated
by DXers. I know the National Radio Club ( www.nrcdxas.org ) has them in
Bob:
Two people with a lot of experience have said the translations are very bad.
No one has said they are good or even passable. There's no "maybe" at this
point, unless you have received some other feedback?
