And they’re destroying their FM programming too…a whole raft of beloved music
shows got the axe. A misguided digital strategy imho. Music moving to
digital…all over the air programming originating as podcasts first.

Pacific Beat just announced that Radio Australia with be shut off in less
than four hours timeso noon in Melbourne? Did not make it clear? So
tune in for possible or more likely 0100 UTC shut down today in NA.

Radio Australia 15240 2105 UTC Jan 30 with Pacific Beat featuring a reports
from around the Pacific about the closure of the ABC shortwave service.
Legislation will be introduced next week to re-store the service.

underground; female announcer talks and says Radio Australia (ID) and other
interview; ID. Broadcasting with fair signal and modulation,
. . . as I'm sure everyone has discovered by now. Very comforting. Not
finding them there for a couple days was kinda like having the sun go dark!

Summary: Australia's public broadcaster, the
Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC) is planning
to launch Radio Australia into India this year,
according to ABC managing director Mark Scott. The
announcement was part of wide ranging changes to the

AUSTRALIA 15160, 0505-, Radio Australia Apr 27 Surprisingly good reception in
an otherwise almost dead band at this time, several hours after my local
sunset. Shepparton is listed with 100 kw from 0500 to 0800. Heard equally
well last night. Plenty of parallels noted including: 15515 (Sheppa
between 0700-0800), 15420 not at all...
