VistALite has officially been renamed VistA-Office Electronic Health Record
(OpenVistA EHR). This was announced at NHII. At this time this product
does not exist. The VA is working in conjunction CMS of H&HS to port the

I do not know of any national mapping of Fileman fields to SQL that is
available via FOIA. All the mapping tools mentioned are proprietary and
thus not available via FOIA. Whatever tool one selects, I would ask that
vendor do they have something already developed that makes doing the mapping

Steve, so a separate mapping from Fileman fields to M globals is
required no matter what M imple
If you are running Vista on Cache, you have a SQL
manager built into Cache. As stated though, you need to mapped the VistA
FM file structure. By the end of this year, the VA will have converted all
their sites from running various M implementations to all running Cache on
VMS.

Yes, if you read this is sounds like it is done already, but it really
isn't. VistA, of course, will be the core of it, but it needs a number of
things added, like pediatrics and OBGYN and a GUI scheduling interface,
something to capture billing data, etc. The plan is for it to be released to

Nancy, can you send me a link to a press release for this? I would

When using a layered SQL product to access an M database, you have to
map the hierarchical M globals to relational tables. SQL engines like
KB_SQL and Aida need this mapping to be performed. The mapping exists
for KB_SQL since the VA uses KB_SQL internally. To the best of my

Indeed! DHCP, now VistA

It is possible using an M-to-SQL application.

Viva 0.4 doesn't really need to be installed in the same way. It has the OS
on the CD and only puts the globals (data containing elements) on your
machine, so if you have gotten this far, it is not something you will want
to do.

Nancy,
Can you tell me where I can get more information on this? I would like to
learn more about the software and its requirements.
Thanks so much.

Thanks so much Nancy,
I installed SemiViva 0.4 and now I'm using CPRS version OR_30_187.
They are working so good...
I haven't time to install Viva 0.4 but I'll try later this month.
Also, is there a version of SemiViva without sample data loaded?
