Seems ok for now.
Odd, that they have a really weird list of compatible modem(s)

Still don't know what might arrive? Completed
I use Verizon DSL and the modem they supplied was a Westell. (Don't have time
at the moment to check model number) It has seemed a solid modem. Only twice in
more that 3 years have I needed to unplug it and reboot it. I have used it with
3 different models of Netgear routers. (2 wired and one
HBest,
At best, my question may have been apples to oranges comparison. LOL
Glad to know someone has experience w/Westell.
I have no idea what att may send me in the end!
Just wondering about what they say are compatible.
Concerned becuz there were no normal names. Hmm.

Using 2 Westell modems via Verizon DSL service. Both of them are 6100 model.
One says DSL modem, the other says DSL2+Router. Both have worked well with
Linksys and Netgear routers. Pretty solid. Needed to reset maybe 1-2x a
year.

Rich,
Understand both are 6100 m/n.
Hmm. Can you tell me the m/n's of both?
So far, Westell looks DOABLE..
a bit confused. one does service.. one does dsl router.
Odd. Yes, I admit freely to stupid status here.
It has been 6 years since I did this research.
OK, I am being anal, maybe..
Oops! missed the link to Linksys and Netgear routers.
That is what I am attempting to get to.
I have a D-Link Router... :)
Would you suppose Westell works well with D-Link?

Considering I can't copy a file from my file server, I'm gonna say no.
I haven't been able to figure out how to fix the problem and I've google'd and
changed IE settings and reinstalled IE7. About to reinstall XP w/ SP2 :(

Cat5 is better. Thermostat wire doesn't have the twists that are
necessary to cancel interference from stray electromagnetic fields.

That reminds me, I did the same as well. I ran 6 lead thermostat copper wire for my phone
I would assume the D-Link would work fine.
About the router on the modem. I don't know. It only has 1 rj45 jack. I read
that for the Linksys to work with the Westell 6100 DSL2+Router, DHCP would
have to be disabled on the Linksys. I tried it at first, but nothing worked.
So as it is set up
