I've become a big fan of G.Skill memory kits, especially for DDR4. However,
I've had problems getting my HW-E (5820k) and BW-E (6950X) to run at high
frequencies, like 3200MT/s. The same kits work fine in my Z170 boards with
Skylake chips, so I know it's not the modules. I've instead opted to us
Bobby,
I don't know if their recent water coolers are better but I've had better
luck with NZXT
for water cooling.

I agree with the M2 interface. Look up info on the Samsung 960 M2 drive.
I also agree that a NAS is a good idea. I have the Synology DS412+.
I am working on a new build for myself right now.
I have purchased:
I7 6850K (6-core 3.6GHz)
Corsair H115i AOI cooler
Corsair 960T
It didn't last long though. Samsung's 960 Pro already saturates 4 PCIe 3.0

Something to also consider is a good NAS if you don't already have one. I keep
all my important stuff on the NAS so I don't have to have as much HDD space on
any of the PC's at the house. Map a NAS share or create an iscsi drive for each
box. I'm running a synology DS1518+ . I only keep the quic
Brian,
Thanks for the link and info. This looks like something I would appreciate and
a new mobo is definitely high on my list.

One of the big recent advancements is in the new M.2 interface for SSDs,
which finally creates an interface that can match the inherent speed of

Hi,
My last new build was a 2.67 GHz i7 system in 2009. I have been using a dual
Xeon 6-core, 2.67 GHz refurb (HP Z600)for about 2 years. I have outgrown the
storage capacity (hard drives, etc.) of the HP case. It is very proprietary
and would not easily transfer to the larger case I have (from
