(I've had the same problem with Dell
K8N-E deluxe. I would of though new enough for this problem to be gone. Hard to
believe there are still sub par caps ( if that even was the problem and not the

cap is not near the cpu and is just puffed, not leaking or

I have done a few myself, but this one is under warranty. I actually have a
socket A on the bench for repair ( 3 bad caps ) but wonder if it is worth it,
NOT.
mine is a 820uF 6.3v. I wonder if a 1000uF 6.3v would be better or maybe one
same uF and higher V.

Actually, the remark about AMD/VIA and Soyo
stems from the fact they don't last over 3.75 years.
You can squeeze them a little longer, but two of mine went

Rick,
Agree totally even w/o any technical specifics. Every AMD/VIA m/b I have
ever used has been a problem, or, suffered what I perceive to be an early RTF.
Maybe, just my situation, but still..

I've definitely had issues with a few VIA based mainboards, BUT I also have 3
epia mini-itx systems that have been rock solid running 24/7 for about 4 years.
The mini-itx ones seem to be very stable when configured as these ones are. I
used the same drive image for all of them, running win2k ser
