Yes, much of the patch might do time zones overseas, but it also provides
the new pointers (math values) for our USA systems that do live in DST
areas to re-compute when DST starts and stops. I suppose since many things
in computer-land depend on the correct time at each PC, getting DST
This whole thing is a crock... grin
(It has its uses though...)
Daylight is a finite resource... Changing the clock doesn't save anything,
it just moves it...
I guess calling it Daylight MOVING Time has no sex appeal... ;-)

Rick,
I completely agree with you. Actually, if it were called Daylight
Moving/Shifting Time I might not feel so bad about it. I just find it to
be a giant PITA.
It is interesting to note that DST seems to be more important, and
ingrained, in those highly populated areas at higher latitudes.
Has anyone seen a patch/hotfix from M$ regarding a new start for Daylight
Saving Time this coming Sunday (03/11/07)?
I realize that DST may not affect everyone. Just wondering if anyone knows
of plans for any future updates this week. Thanks.
Best,
Duncan
