[H] X10

Has anybody ever heard of X10 video surveillance equipment? Interestingly, the COX or HWG server won't let me post the link. This post refuses to send with the link in it. But the link is www and then put X10 dot com

There is a TON of it out there and alot of people have experience with it. They were one of the first to market with this type of thing, but since then, alot of others have come out with better/cheaper stuff. I'm sure someone on the HWG has a list of companies they have used :) ___

Their claim-to-fame is no-big-deal these days with so many wireless cameras available elsewhere. As to the actual good X10 remote control stuff there are other sites & sources. Ben Ruset wrote: For a while, they were the #1 source of popups and sent a *LOT* of spam. I would imagine many, man

Sure. I have a bunch of X10 stuff here. In fact I was thinking of grabbing the x10 ninja to pan and tilt my nightvision security cam (which isn't x10). I use it to remotely turn on and off different computers, camera's and network devices at home, when I'm at work. lopaka Winterlight wrote:

Not sure if they're related, but Smarthome.com is a big vendor of home automation. So is your local electrical supply since Leviton makes a complete line. http://www.leviton.com/ There's been more than a few big names since the 70's when BSR introduced the system. Radio shack, IBM, Sears, Cra

I don't actually have any x10 cameras but it sounds like a decent setup. You can setup web based interfaces for x10 devices to control them remotely, etc. Where will you be, at work? x10 stuff is cool for the reason that you can power things on and off as needed all over the house. I have 3 ca

Now the X10 Ninja mounts are cool, the cams suck IMO. I have my D-Link cam on one now. I had used old video conferencing cams off ebay with them through a 3 device RF modulator. V.Cool to be able monitor from any room with a TV just be sure you get the proper channel blocker for the cable feed

Actually, I think it would all work better in a "turn-key" configuration that's designed from the ground up...you need to be able to buy an HD in a box that will let backup software tickle it over USB, then do the physical switching to get the HD & electronics in the circuit, then tell the soft

I just noticed this thread. I have a couple NAS devices that are controlled by X10. They are on shelves in the back storage area and very hard to get to physically so I turn them on (rarely) to back up data to them. I can power them on/off using a web browser via MisterHouse or by using an X10 p
