Chuck, I have both a standalone VCR and one of those copy protected VCRDVD specialized machines, and in both cases (IIRC) the auto tracking can be manually over-ridden and set to anything I want... Another thing to look for is a Manufactures firmware upgrade for the (VCRDVD) machine. I had to

I have been converting our VHS tapes to video format. I am more that happy with the main quality for the Dx movies. The only thing I would really like to change is the removal of about the lowest 1/16 of an inch at the bottom of screen. That's were there are vestiges of tracking squiggles or
